David Murphy
Chief Executive Officer

David Murphy is the Chief Executive Officer of Kindthread, responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction of the company. With Kindthread, he’s fulfilling his long-held desire to build an organization with integrity and service at its core. Together with the leadership team, David is dedicated to serving and transforming the healthcare apparel industry while driving positive community impact.

Before leading Kindthread, David served as President & CEO of Barco Uniforms. During his 10+ years of leadership, David transformed the family-run business into a global leader in the healthcare apparel industry. Among his significant accomplishments at Barco Uniforms are innovative product introductions, successful licensing arrangements, cultural transformation, and profitable double-digit growth. Additionally, David has held senior leadership roles at brands across the apparel, retail, and e-commerce categories. David began his career at Nike, where he advanced through management roles due to exceptional sales results and leadership excellence.

David firmly believes in the power of a positive and service-oriented culture, focused on meeting the needs of customers. Continuous learning and growth are integral to his leadership vision, and he is committed to building innovative, high-performing teams.

David received his BS from the University of Iowa and lives with his family in Scottsdale, Ariz.

David Aquino
Chief Operating Officer

David Aquino is the Chief Operating Officer of Kindthread, responsible for leading company operations and technology innovation and performance.

David has significant experience developing and delivering technology-driven business services and solutions.

Before joining Kindthread, he was the Founder and CEO of Certain Supply, leading its successful sale to a public company in early 2021. David’s breadth of experience across consumer and professional goods includes serving as the COO and CIO for SharkNinja, COO and CIO for Barco Uniforms, and as a senior leader at Aramark Uniforms.

David is a lifelong learner who believes in the power of working as a team and having fun while doing it. He aspires to promote this inquisitive and innovative mindset across teams to enhance the operations of the company.

He is on the Board of the Supply Chain Management Program at Syracuse University and has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Supply Chain MBA program at Northeastern University. Dave received his BS in Marketing from Syracuse University and his MBA from Fordham University. He lives with his family in Irvine, Calif.

Michael McCarthy
Chief Revenue Officer

Mike McCarthy is Kindthread’s Chief Revenue Officer, responsible for leading the company’s sales, partner and growth strategy.

A talented executive with extensive strategy and growth expertise, Mike brings decades of successful sales leadership to the role and will leverage his extensive background in leading and implementing multi-channel sales and distribution strategies on a regional, national and global level to help grow the business. Prior to joining Kindthread, Mike was the Head of Sales & Marketing at Image Solutions and prior to that, he served as the VP of Sales for Barco Uniforms.

He has a passion for people and process and uses that approach to lead and build strong teams that drive efficiencies throughout the organization.

Mike received an Undergraduate degree from Champlain College and an MBA from Sejong University. He lives with his wife and son in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Sallian Song
Chief Product Officer

Sallian Song is the Chief Product Officer of Kindthread, responsible for leading product design, innovation, and production with a relentless focus on caregivers.

Salli’s extensive experience and accomplishments within healthcare apparel have made her a well-respected leader in the industry, known for creating exciting, top-quality, and commercially successful product collections globally.

Prior to joining Kindthread, she held the role of EVP, Creative at Careismatic Brands, Inc., where she oversaw all product design and merchandising, leveraging her business expertise and strong creative vision to deliver cohesive, fashion-forward, and compelling collections. Over her 20-year tenure with the company, she developed designs for new and existing brands that drove profitability while focusing on customers and their needs.

Salli is an inspiring team leader who believes in building collaborative environments to capture the best of a team’s creativity. She is known for her commitment to making a difference through mentorship and helping others.

Salli holds a degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and lives with her husband, children, and rescue dogs in Los Angeles, Calif.

Karen Duffy is co-responsible for leading the strategy, development and execution of marketing, communications, digital and advertising campaigns, focusing on driving cutting-edge innovation, developing social impact platforms, and transforming every facet of Kindthread into a customer-centric culture and best-in class growth model.

Prior to joining Kindthread, Karen co-founded with Lauren Rieckhoff, wilyfoXX Collective, a boutique strategic advisory and multi-disciplinary agency focusing on constructing indispensable strategies for the people, the brands, and the institutions changing the world.

Known for her intimate knowledge of the Luxury Fashion design/retail industry, brand marketing expertise and 20+ years of global relationship to service visionaries building the brands of the future, Karen is a trusted brand and communications strategist who connects creative businesses and people to growth opportunities with world-renowned companies including American Express and Verizon.

Motivated by building high-performing teams, Karen is an accomplished thought-leader and innovation strategist, who is equally passionate about bringing people together, as she is about igniting emotional connections with consumers and nurturing relationships with retail, media, and creative communities at large.

A California-native, Karen received her BA from Mills College and spends her time between New York City and the Catskills, NY, with her family, two dogs and a spunky cat.

An accomplished executive with a passion for disruptive, female driven content, Lauren brings a breadth of experience in the Entertainment & Talent Agency world. Marked by a long tenure with Creative Artists Agency, which she joined two decades ago as one of the first female agents in their New York headquarters, Lauren spearheaded global initiatives for Hollywood icons and C-Suite executives including Ron Howard, Eric Schmidt and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Lauren's unique approach is rooted in her philosophy of applying the principles of traditional talent and brand building to emerging business models. By joining Kindthread, Lauren is fulfilling her longtime passion of infusing the value of transformational storytelling with social impact at its core.

A native New Yorker, Lauren graduated from Marymount Manhattan College and lives with her husband and two sons in Manhattan, NY.
